KELLENBERGER is a company specialized in developing and producing high precision grinding machines. Their products are designed for medium and high technology use. The KELLENBERGER grinding machines are based on both hydraulic and numerical control technologies and are adaptable to the clients' needs. Started in 1917, the company is now part of the Hardinge Inc., Elmira, USA. This also resulted in changing its name into L. KELLENBERGER & Co. AG.

The company was set up in St.Gallen, Switzerland by Leonhard Kellenberger and in 1918, one year after the official inauguration, the KELLERBERGER produced its first grinding machine. In 1919, the company displayed the grinding at the machine exhibition in Basel, Switzerland. In 1945, the first hydraulic Universal Grinding Machine was presented to the public.

Under Edgar Kellenberger's direction, the company specialized in the production of universal cylindrical and tool and cutter grinding machines. The Numerical Control System was developed in 1980 along with Grossenbacher, a Swiss Electronics manufacturer, exhibited in 1981, and first put into practice in 1984. In 1995, the company inaugurated the KELVARIA grinding machine in collaboration with Hardinge.

KELLENBERGER specializes in cylindrical and jig grinders and offers accessories and support for all their products. The cylindrical grinders that they offer include:

KEL-VARIA: high performance grinding machine with 28 different wheel heads, suitable for the toughest requirements

KEL-VISTA: Economic and user friendly CNC grinding machine, which offers good visibility through the grinding process due to its compact design.

KEL-UNIVERSAL: A hydraulic grinding machine suitable for small series and prototypes, with adjustable height for the wheel head KEL-VIVA: Up-to-date technology for added precision, equipped with hydrostatic guides

KEL-VERA: A compact cylindrical grinding machine with hydrostatic guides, various models for the wheel heads and optional loader

KEL-VITA: A solid and versatile CNC with 8 different wheel heads and optional loader

TSCHUDIN T 35: Modular cylindrical grinding machine, suitable for medium and high volume production.

TSCHUDIN T25: A basic grinding machine with small size, suitable for economic production.

The jig-grinders produced by KELLENBERGER include:

HAUSER H35-200: An automatic bore and form jig-grinding machine with a permissible 300 kg load and a good price/performance ratio

HAUSER H35-400: Expandable jig-grinding machine with a 300kg maximum load

HAUSER H45-400 + H55-400: An expandable machine which can perform simple bore and form tasks as well as fully automatized tasks which include high tech grinding cell.

The company received the ISO 9001: 2008 for the high quality of their products manufactured in the Biel, St. Gallen and Romanshorn locations.
